Abi Daugherty
President

Abi Daugherty

Abi Daugherty is humbled to serve as your current Student Government Association Vice President. This year, she has collaborated with SGA Leadership to establish a partnership between SGA and the Cookery, providing students with a new practice and performance space that will be available for future use. She has developed surveys with her peers to gather student data on parking/traffic, FitRec concerns, and JAAC furniture and has presented this data to upper-administration. She is extremely passionate about Belmont SGA, and as your President she will continue going the extra mile to advocate for every student that calls Belmont home!

Dia Honey Abdullah
Vice President

Dia Honey Abdullah

Dia Honey is proud to serve on the current Student Government Association Cabinet as DEI Chair. This year, she has revitalized a student outreach committee within SGA, creating opportunities for SGA to interact with student organizations on campus. By establishing this bridge, many organizations have found it much easier to contact SGA and request funding. As your Vice President, Dia Honey will continue going the extra mile to connect with student organizations on campus, and advocate for their needs.

Our Platform

Four pillars for a brighter Belmont.

💪01

Fitness

Students have consistently raised concerns about overcrowding at FitRec and limited access to certain equipment across campus facilities. When workout spaces are overcrowded or lack necessary resources, it creates barriers that make it difficult for students to maintain consistent and healthy routines.

🍽️02

Fuel

Food access on campus should meet the needs of every student. Belmont is home to students from a wide range of cultural and religious backgrounds, and it is important that dining options reflect that diversity.

🎭03

Make Belmont Your Stage

Belmont is known for its creativity, talent, and artistic culture, yet many students have shared concerns about limited access to performance and rehearsal spaces across campus.

💡04

Campus Lighting and Safety

Campus safety is a priority for every student, especially after dark. Several areas across Belmont have been identified by students as being poorly lit, including the space between Beaman and Gabhart, which many students walk through in the evening.
